On Friday, June 27, 2025, Zuwara Municipality witnessed the inauguration of the "Odessa" Tourist Village, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries of the Government of National Unity, Nasruddin Milad Al-Fazani, as part of the government's efforts to support tourism and promote traditional industries in Libya.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of officials, including the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zani, the Deputy Minister of Transportation, Wissam Al-Idrisi, the Mayor of Zuwara Municipality, along with representatives of various government institutions and stakeholders from the tourism sector.
In his remarks, Minister Al-Fazani stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, describing such collaborations as a cornerstone for advancing tourism development and encouraging local investments. He also praised Zuwara Municipality for providing a supportive environment for vital projects in the region.
The Minister, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials, conducted a field tour to inspect several tourist villages and resorts in the area, including "Odessa Village, Verona Village, Al-Bortoqala Village, Toulin Village, Sea Beach Village," and "Titanix Resort," where they reviewed the progress of work and the level of services provided to visitors.
Al-Fazani expressed his appreciation for the efforts of local investors in revitalizing domestic tourism, emphasizing the need for an integrated strategic vision that keeps pace with this growth and ensures its sustainability.
The tour also revealed several challenges facing these projects, most notably weak electricity infrastructure, lack of organized road networks, water shortages, and poor telecommunications services, which require urgent intervention.
At the end of the visit, the Minister stressed the need for rapid coordination with relevant authorities to address these issues and provide the necessary support to create an attractive investment environment that contributes to sustainable development in the region.
